Spring 2007
Wow! I can't beleive it's been almost 5 years since I have updated my personal web page. You would think I was a busy woman. I only wish that was true. The last 5 years have be spent enjoying Zachary. He has brought us so much joy! It's hard to beleive that he will be starting Kindergarten this year. He is growing up so fast!
My mom "YaYa" moved in almost 2 years ago. She has really helped us out. The yard is her domain as she loves to "piddle" in the yard. She has really turned our yard into a beautiful garden. It's always nice to come home and see what she has done to the yard. We tell her not to work so hard, but she tells us it's not work.
Work is keeping me busy and is challenging. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing in the testing orgranization of Amdocs.
Finally, the big news of being pregnant with our second child. This pregnancy is different from when I was pregnant with Zachary. I had morning sickness the first trimester with this pregnancy. I did not experience that with Zachary. About a month into the second trimester I started feeling almost normal. I am surprised how well I'm doing with this pregnancy since I'm working. I did not work when I was pregnant with Zachary. Thankful I have a desk job, so I'm not on my feet that much. I make it through the day okay, but once I get home at night and relax on the couch that's it. I'm out for the count! Zachary seems to be excited about the baby, at least on some days. Some days he doesn't want to talk about it. It will be interesting to see his reaction when the baby comes. Anthony and I try to include him in all the baby talk even with deciding on the name. The baby is due in June. I'll be having another C-section, so we will be able to schedule the date. That's another decision we have to make inin the next month.
June 2002
I'll never forget the past month!! In a matter of weeks, I lost my dad to lung cancer and gave birth to our son. I had hoped my dad could hang on until Zachary was born. Even though he didn't quite make it, I believe the two of them met in passing. Zachary now has a special guardian angel looking out after him.
New Year 2002
Wow, the holidays came and went so quickly. As you read on our home page we have been through a lot the last part of 2001. Finding a birthmother so quickly and then having the adoption fall through so close to the births was a shock to us. Plus, being laid off during that time. The time off from work has been a real blessing. It gave me a chance to take it easy with being pregnant to make sure we had no problems in our first trimester. Plus, just having the time off to rejuvenate my brain cells has been nice.
Not much else has been happening in my world. I started piano lessons last fall. I have mastered a few songs, but I have a long way to go. My grandfather passed away at the beginning of this new year. Not exactly a way to start of the year. He will be missed by all. Other than that, I'm looking for a job and taking it easy.
Summer 2001
The summer seemed to breezed right by. It helped with it not being too hot this summer and us being very busy with learning about adoption, finding an adoption attorney, and writing our birthmother letter. We are so excited about building our family and hope we find a birthmother quickly. So, please share our adoption wish with your family and friends in case they may know of a birthmother that is considering adoption for her baby.
Yes, you read it right on our homepage. I WENT camping. I really enjoyed it! It was definitely "roughing it" for me. No showers! I did draw the line at toilets and would only camp at a campground that had toilets even if they were "porta potties".
Our garden has seemed to flourish this year. We have about a billion cherry tomatoes. We can't believe we are getting that many off of two plants. Our cantaloupe was very delicious - small, but good!
Mid Year 2001
Wow! It's already mid 2001. Where did the first half of the year go? As you read about on our homepage, we finally finished our backyard. We still want to plant some more bushes and flowers, but the major stuff is done! As you can tell from the picture on our home page, we put in a walk path and added bark to the Rose Garden. Hopefully, the bark will cut down on the weeds. I think I have spent most of this year pulling weeds!
An update on my job... I was promoted to Manager of the Sacramento Technical Support Group a couple of months ago. I'm enjoying my job with Portal Software, especially now that our office is less than a mile from our house. Talk about a 5-minute commute. It looks like within the next 6 months to a year we'll start supporting the software Anthony's group has been writing. That should make for some interesting conversation at the dinner table.
An update on my Dad.... Unfortunately, his cancer has not gone into remission yet. He says he "is going to beat this" and I think he can. He has such a positive attitude about his cancer. I have learned a lot on how to deal with the things life hands you this year watching my dad battle his cancer. A person can either dwell on the rotten thing that has occurred in their life or they can accept it and find out what their options are and plan a course of action to get rid of or overcome the rotten thing. All the while keeping a positive attitude. In the past year, I have always seen my dad with smiles and still brightening everyone's day. He doesn't seem to dwell on what life has handed him and I admire him for that. I'm so PROUD of him for the way he has handled the last year and wanted to share that with everyone!
I keep getting requests for some of the recipes for the dishes I have brought to various functions over the last year. I am now including my favorite recipes on our web page. I'll update the recipes periodically.
I have been busy organizing our photos and placing some into photo albums you can view while visiting our web page. I'll also be updating the albums periodically.

Year 2000 kept me busy. I hope 2001 slows down a bit. I'll keep everyone updated on what is happening in my life here. In the future, I hope to have a link here for my favorite recipes as some of them were a hit at Thanksgiving when the family was here.
